Karen Beth's Story
Hi Everybody - Wow, it's been so many years, I feel like I don't know a soul in the world. I started at Ramona in 1964, my Junior year, when my family moved back to Riverside from the Orange County Area. I had been attending Bolsa Grande High School in Westminster. I was in Secretarial/Business classes as well as the regular required classes. My best friend at Ramona was Laura McWhirter and we also hung around with Emma Stowers. We were quite a threesome. I eventually met and started "going steady" with Gary Rodgers, God rest his soul, as you remember, he was killed in Viet Nam. I eventually got on with my life and started working at different secretarial jobs, then in 1967 I started working with the Riverside County Sheriff's Dept as a Sheriff's Clerk. Later in my work career, I ended up at Riverside County District Attorney's Office first with Family Support then with Criminal as a Legal Steno. ok care of my mom for a few years before she passed away, did a few odd jobs in the office work field until 2007 when I became very ill, spent 3 months between Riverside Community Hospital and Mission Nursing Home after succumbing to pneumonia then almost dying while in a chemically induced coma. God brought me back, renewed my Faith and I am retired, and on Facebook everyday. I have a son, Michael Minier age 31, only child, a jewel; we have 2 dogs, 6 cats and thank God, he is my caregiver along with his girlfriend, Karen, we all live together here in Riverside and we're just enjoying life as best we can. If you know me, or think you know me, either from Orange County or Riverside. Hope to hear from you, even if it's to say "Hi, I remember 1965". I think life has been good to me and I think it's because I worked hard for my education and after school, I worked hard to make my way in this world. I have a great son, a good family and God has me in his great big hands.
